mood: croqueted

On Saturday we had the Tucson Animation Screening Society’s Spring Picnic in Himel Park. I think about 18 people showed up thru the day, pretty good! Weather was pretty good, kinda sunny and warm. We cooked hamburgers and hot-dogs (well John J. and Jeremy cooked, the rest of us ate…). Did the usual stuff, lots of talking and playing frisbee. Alas wasn’t windy enough for the kite Jessica brought. After eating we played a crazy game of croquet (and I almost staged a come-from-behind win, but Jessica snagged first place at the very end as my luck streak struck). After that was a mad game of Squirt Gun Royal. Well, perhaps game is too strong a term, the rules quickly went out the window and became a free-for-all. Loads of fun! After everything wound down and we’d just about finished off all the food, about half the group ended up heading over to my place to play video games, watch the best movie of all time, Real Genius (which the younger of the group mostly hadn’t seen, so it was a moral imperative that they watch it) and play more Fatal Frame II in order to freak everyone out. Think things finally broke up around 2am. Definitely a fun filled day.
