I’m here |
Well, I’m here. a bit tired and getting more on the sleepy side, but I’m trying to stay up and go to bed at a proper local time (its currently 9:37p).
Plane flight went well enough (forgetting the brief panic as I getting ready to leave the hotel because I couldn’t find my ticket — I’d outsmarted myself and put it in the front pocket of my suitcase where I wouldn’t lose it…). Bleh, my head’s kinda swimming so I won’t bother with any real details. Flight was fairly comfortable and passed at a reasonable rate. Definitely like the Boeing 777 over the 747. Everything on this side went smoothly, from customs pretty much waiving me though to the JET volunteers directing us through finding our way to the bus to the hotel. I’m staying at the Keio Plaza Hotel in Shinjuku, the same one we popped into to ask for directions on the previous trip. Very posh. Heck, even got some of my money exchanged since the lines weren’t bad. After that a bunch of us from the Arizona/New Mexico/Colorado group wandered around looking for food, finding sandwiches at a coffee shop.
Well, starting to fade so I’ll probably head off to bed. Tomorrow is a fairly full day of opening ceremonies and sessions.
