Introverted weekend

No Tags

Nothing exciting to report on for this weekend. No trips, no parties, no shopping. Instead I made a conscious decision to stay at home this weekend to rest and do stuff around the house. In fact Saturday I didn’t even step foot outside (other than the patio to put out my futon).

With all the running around I’ve been doing, I think its been several weeks at least since I’d spent an entire day at home. Back in the US, I’d probably be a hermit one or two weekends a month.

As a bit of an introvert, this is a good thing. Interacting with people drains energy and being alone gives me a chance to recoup it. That’s probably part of why I’ve been so tired lately. Between teaching and all the JET stuff, I’ve been interacting with a lot more people a lot more regularly. This is good, but I think it does mean I’ll have to more consciously set aside a bit of “me” time (like this weekend).

So I spent most of Saturday napping or doing internet stuff. Did a little straightening up around the house. Sunday did a little less napping and a little more cleaning. The place is finally presentable again after much neglect (well, I still need to put away the dishes that are dry now, but close enough). Exciting, huh? 8-) Well, maybe not, but I think the rest and results around the house were worth it.

Now to figure out something to do over the sorta-long weekend I have coming up (unfortunately its broken up by a school sports day on Sunday, so I can’t really go anywhere far)…
