One of the things I sometimes miss here is the variety of sodas that are available in the US. Granted, there are a variety of unusual and refreshing beverages available from more vending machines than there are people (well, it seems that way), but Coca Cola & occasionally Pepsi are the only carbonated, caffeinated varieties you can usually find. On my vacation to Japan back in June I did discover that regular Mt. Dew is occasionally found in Boss brand vending machines. I’ve yet to find it in stores, but maybe one-in-five or ten Boss machines has it. I’ve taken to checking the unmistakable royal blue machines whenever I see one. But until today I haven’t found Mt. Dew in any of the ones here in Mukaihara. But whilst taking my evening walk I discovered cans of sweet liquid consciousness in the vendo by the youth center’s tennis courts. Needless to say I brought home a couple cans as a trophy (since it was getting too cold to stand there and drink my prize).
