Yatta! It looks like Cartoon Network has finally added Teen Titans to their Toonami line-up here in Japan! In fact I just finished watching an episode (#7 “Switched). They’re showing it on Tuesdays & Thursdays at 17:00 & 23:00 with bilingual audio. Can’t say I’m that big on the Japanese voices, they’re OK I guess. If they’re doing one or two episodes a week it’ll be a little while until they catch up with the new episodes that are coming up next month in the US. But good to see it here without having to resort to other sources…

That and probably the influence of repeated reading of Henry Reed’s Journey and similar books as a kid. Recently I’ve been enjoying a couple of Michael Palin’s shows, Around the World in 80 Days and Full Circle that have been running on Bravo. Another fascinating looking one that is upcoming October 6th on PBS is Horatio’s Drive. It’s the story of Dr. Horatio Nelson Jackson’s road-trip across the US one-hundred years ago. Not only no rest stops or Stuckey’s but not even paved roads or gas stations. Back when driving across this country resembled a modern expedition across the remote, undeveloped parts of Africa. Having trekked back and forth across the country a few times myself — abet with all the modern luxuries and conveniences (like paved roads and AAA service) — this trip back in time and across the country looks like it will be quite interesting.
